Hello again! This is another example for an invitation card. Mind you, these cards I've shown you are mostly from western-style wedding where they have an extra piece of card of RSVP (répondez s'il vous plaît meaning "please respond") used to confirm numbers of guests attending the wedding. It is considered important to reply to an invitation because it will make it easier for the host to estimate their budget on food, placements and doorgifts. When a wedding is held in a prominent place like a hotel ballroom, believe me, RSVP is what you need most!
Back to the WIC for today, however complex the card is, we can still 'borrow' the idea to be used in our typical Malay/Chinese/Indian wedding invitation card.
In this version of WIC, the main cardstock is red in color with white Chinese character by the meaning of "love" printed on the cover of the card. Inside, a white paper carries all the information of the invitation and these 2 pieces are tied together with a small strand of yellow ribbon. Such a nice touch and very suitble for a Chinese wedding. The estimated cost would be higher than the average wedding card since it requires printing for the cover. To cut the cost by a big fraction, what we can do is to change the lettering into heart shapes made from a piece of pink color paper. This way it is much easier to make and I'm estimating the cost at RM 0.80 - 1.50 per piece.
