It's an era of digital technology and almost every aspects of our life are turning digital. Like e-cards to replace the normal well-wishes on paper, a wedding invitation has also been evolved into e-invitation cards. The latest trend is to create a so-called 'wedding website' where not only invitations and RSVPs are laid out, there will be photos before, during and after the wedding reception not to mention a tonne loads of goodies and information for the invitees.
Prior to my own wedding, I've scouted a lot of service providers who offer such services in creating my wedding website. The best that I've found (best in terms of value and services provided) is from eWedding.com. You can browse their website and run through their online examples. For extensive features, you could subscribe to eWedding.com for as low as USD 4.95/month.
But I just stick to the FREE package. For an example of my wedding website, please click here.
I have to say that this website saves me a lot, although we did printed out cards for special guests & friends. Saves the printing cost (the lowest is RM 1.20 for printing above 1000 pcs), postage (30 cents) and the general hassle of getting the address especially for those far-reaching family & friends.
For those who doesn't want to be burden with learning how to create and use the website, do contact me for setting up and creating your special website. Minimal fees apply for maintenance purpose.
Hello everybody! Such a long time that we haven't talk about invitation card!! While surfing on the net and visiting my favourite wedding favors stop, I bumped into this site called That Magic Moments! What so special about them is that they are offering to "air" your wedding invitation card on the net! Much easier to invite your long-lost friends isn't it? There is also the benefit of cutting down your designing, printing and mailing costs!
Now you must be thinking of... budgets and headcounts isn't it? Well... in order for you to estimate how many people are going to attend your wedding using this invitation card, they also provide you with an RSVP which can be imedeately replied and sent to you! Ain't that cool?
If you think the idea is cool, go get your Magic Moment at only RM 69!
A simple design made from natural off-white paper printed in black ink and torn at the edges to make it look even more elegant and natural-looking. The whole invitation is tied together using a filmsy paper and a jutt ribbon with a dried leaf as its decoration. Suitable for garden wedding theme.
Perfect for an Indian wedding or for those looking for a very intricate and classy invitation card design. The invitation card itself and the RSVP are just printed on a plain white cardstock. What makes this WIC very classy is the envelope because it is using the same design as the fabric for the bride's clothes. We can substitute that with songket printed envelope. Will definitely look great and classy.
Hello again! This is another example for an invitation card. Mind you, these cards I've shown you are mostly from western-style wedding where they have an extra piece of card of RSVP (répondez s'il vous plaît meaning "please respond") used to confirm numbers of guests attending the wedding. It is considered important to reply to an invitation because it will make it easier for the host to estimate their budget on food, placements and doorgifts. When a wedding is held in a prominent place like a hotel ballroom, believe me, RSVP is what you need most!
Back to the WIC for today, however complex the card is, we can still 'borrow' the idea to be used in our typical Malay/Chinese/Indian wedding invitation card.
In this version of WIC, the main cardstock is red in color with white Chinese character by the meaning of "love" printed on the cover of the card. Inside, a white paper carries all the information of the invitation and these 2 pieces are tied together with a small strand of yellow ribbon. Such a nice touch and very suitble for a Chinese wedding. The estimated cost would be higher than the average wedding card since it requires printing for the cover. To cut the cost by a big fraction, what we can do is to change the lettering into heart shapes made from a piece of pink color paper. This way it is much easier to make and I'm estimating the cost at RM 0.80 - 1.50 per piece.
I'm planning to have a few series (don't know how many, maybe infinity) of Wedding Invitation Card (WIC) ideas. So let's start with the first ever. Bear in mind that my taste in things usually prone to be expensive due to the fact that most of them are hand-crafted. But this tendency of mine co-related with the overall theme of the blog which is more into the environmental friendly approach. So some of the ideas potrayed here might be formed from reuse/recycle items. All I can promise you is that... they're beautiful. That comes from the eyes of eCCentric eL.
