Hi Townies,
It has been a long time since I last updated this blog. Seems like I've been too busy with all the community projects on my Facebook. I do have some great news coming, got another job on hantaran!
Here's a sneak peak of it. The theme this time is going to be purple & white with some glitters & beads thrown in. The order is for my husband's cousin who's a very cute gal :)
Turquoise Blue | Farhana & Khairi

Ya Allah... 1 month!! This is the longest duration that I haven't been able to update this blog after it kick started. I hope this will remain the longest and no other longer time of idleness.
Townies,
I DO apologize for the lack of updates which was mainly cost by the hectic schedule that I've been having for the past month (2 weddings hantaran to settle + another 2 weeks of outstation in Singapore & Sydney).
Remember the Turqoise Blue hantaran I posted in March? Yes, the kind friend Farhana finally tied the knots early June before I went off for outstation. Here's the pictures of her hantaran that I made just in time for her wedding.
And here's the wedding reception... nice dais eh? Cun!
I've been so occupied the last few days that I wasn't able to update the blog. Today is no difference but I managed to steal some time off to let you guys see the final product of the so call 'disaster color match'. It wasn't so bad afterall eh?
Here's the slides of the 7 trays of hantaran ordered by my husband's cousin, Najmuddin.
They are a tray of the dowry made into a bouquet of roses (this is my favourite) and a cheque in frame, a perfume set, handbag & a pair of shoes, mobile phone and a pair of watch, a set of telekung, gold bracelet & betel leaves in flower arrangement.
Curi-curi update blog because when at home I'll be busy trying to finish off all the 7 trays for this by tomorrow. Here's a sneak preview of the maskahwin of RM 300 arranged into a bouquet of roses (with the awesome help of my mom - I just helped to fused them together into the bouquet because there was no time to do it on my own).
I love this arrangement so much! That extra frame next to it is for the
It is official, this time it's a race MAN vs TIME!
Amazing handbag + hat combo isn't it? This is done for FUN....... by my mom!
I received a MMS from my dad last week (my husband found it amazing that my dad can actually MMS ;p Well, who instilled the motto in me that 'there's nothing that you can't learn' if not them?) telling me that "Ibu menang JOHAN pertandingan gubahan KEMAS (Jabatan Kemajuan Masyarakat)" along with this picture. So I asked him, what's the prize and which kain is that? It was from my mother in-law for the hantaran bertandang exchange tray and the prize is a set of stainless steel pots, kettle and whatnot.
Although I know I got the creativity from them, it is still amazing what she can still do and in the name of fun at that! Here's more pictures of the creation. Truly inspiring (for my next project if there are still people giving off kain for hantaran).
Last night was tiring and mind boggling shopping for the hantaran items that I'm supposed to create in moss green theme. It was supposed to be all green + white but in the end at the last moment I changed the theme color (although still with moss green) because the supplier doesn't have the right color and type of flowers that I want.
So instead of all green + white, it's going to be moss green+yellow and a tinge of orangey red with the berries ;) A disaster??
I think it's going to be even better! Just wait & see!
By the way, the favorite store I went to is going to stock up more flowers in one month or so because they're going to China next week for supplies! Cool! And I even managed to strike a deal with them for fresh flowers supplies. Even cooler!
So all is good, InsyaAllah...
This will be short to update you before I go MIA for a while. I couldn't promise you that I'll be updating you on anything (not even a quote) until mid-June although I will try hard to post through e-mails on anything. This is purely due to the professional & personal commitments that I've made of late.
So here's something I'm working on during my free time at home (by free time I meant by the time in between inhaling and exhaling. There's just so many things to do!!). Tonight I was looking for something green and cream to work out on the 'shopping list' for my husband's cousin's wedding at the end of the month (that's like 2 weeks away!). These are what I found in all the glory of my mother's collected items for hantarans ~ picked up a couple of weeks back from Johor.
But I need more!
Seven is the lucky number and the color this time is red hot chilli! These are the hantaran from my husband to me during our wedding and again, Aunty Nah is the creator.
Simple arrangement of red and pink roses tied with different types of ribbons in a cluster and strewn of lace flowers on the plain white-covered-with red organza base. Nothing beats simplicity (except my extravagant Magenta garden-theme hantaran to him heheheheh).
Here's another set of hantaran I made a couple of years back for a friend of mine during her wedding. It's actually 7 trays, but unfortunately I don't know where the muffin & shoes pictures are :D
For those wondering where you can get that cake cover, you can find it in almost all bakery supplies stores (this one in Kajang) in variety of sizes and it's cheap (below RM10/pc) made from plastic and suitable to display a specially made cake like the ones for a wedding. It has a plastic base to lock the cover and secure it and for this particular event, it fits nicely with the board base of the cake.
After that long post containing the pictures and poems for my fiance's hantaran bertunang, here's his hantaran to me in burgundy. Sorta English garden theme, a very soothing combination of burgundy, cream and pink.
Five trays in all, consisting the ring, sireh and flowers, two Islamic historical books, a pair of white shoes and a pair of lace and satin (for the solemnisation dress).
These are created by his Aunty Nah who's also the penggubah hantaran for our wedding (from him to me). There will be a post on that as well later.
I have shown you the hantaran I've given to my husband on my wedding, but I'm still yet to post on the engagement hantarans. So here it is.
The theme color is gold & cream - a true extravagant colors but it turned out a tad toned down in the pictures and from the many feedbacks I have received, it doesn't look THAT extravagant. *Sigh*

However, I am still proud of it and the best part is, EACH tray is complete with a 4-line pantun that corresponds with each other and the first line in each paragraph are from the second line of the previous paragraph. I have to say that it is extremely difficult to produce it, but it is very special and exclusively dedicated to the then-future husband. Here's the groups of pantun.
1. For the Tepak Sireh
Malam dilayar tiada lara
Belahan jiwa sudah ditemu
Salam diberi pembuka bicara
Tepak dihulur menyambut tamu
2. The book and songkok
Belahan jiwa sudah ditemu
Si hitam manis elok lakunya
Isikan akal dengan ilmu
Ilmu itu tiada habisnya
Si hitam manis elok lakunya
Berbaju kuning berbadan segak
Sudah berilmu sempurna amalnya
Asas agama menjadi tonggak
3. The samping and a set of baju Melayu
Berbaju kuning berbadan segak
Tiada ragu hati adinda
Lebarnya kain tidak teragak
Seputih susu buat kekanda
Tiada ragu hati adinda
Berhidung mancung pun tidak sombong
Bingkisan dari ayah dan bonda
Sehelai samping pahlawan Renchong
4. For the shoes
Berhidung mancung pun tidak sombong
Merdu berzanji selayak diri
Kaus hitam tajam di hujung
Penuh bergaya membawa diri
5. For the sweets and dried fruits
Merdu berzanji selayak diri
Yang tua pula amat dihormati
Masam dan manis jadi selari
Bagai hidup yang menanti
6. Biscuits and chocolates
Yang tua pula amat dihormati
Senyuman ikhlas jadi amalan
Tepung diadun berkati-kati
Jadi manisan buat bekalan
7. Lastly the orange, peach & laichee jelly made by my sister.
Senyuman ikhlas jadi amalan
Membuat gundah si gadis Jawa
Mencari ilham berbulan-bulan
Akhirnya juadah tersedia jua
You would probably think I was exaggerating when I said it is extremely difficult to write these, but it is since each and every lines in the pantun has everything to do with the both of us and our families as well as the hantaran itself.
If you are interested in learning more on how to create such 'extremities' (hehe) do contact me.
P/S: You can hire me to write one for yourself!
Here's the full view of the maroon & cream theme hantaran that was submitted and used last Saturday (10th April 2010) in Bukit Mahkota, Kajang.
The order started off with a call from my mother in-law who said that her neighbour requires help to create the arrangements of hantaran for his brother's wedding. After a short discussion, a few days later the order comes in with a specific request in having maroon, cream, artificial roses and beads in the arrangements - not to mention a short dateline :D
So I hit it off immediately...
The creation started with the base which is painstakingly made from a 15 mm polystyrene, line with a thin foam and covered with cream satin. The border is laced with maroon embroidery lace and is mirrored in all the boxes used.
What made the arrangement stands out is the lovely bunch of maroon velvet roses that looks like the actual fresh flowers coupled with strings of small pearls and bows of maroon and cream ribbons. The contrasting colors just compliment each other. To complete the look, sprinkles of pearl beads are glued to the base and some extra strings of pearl beads are attached to the base in a form of arcs.
Personally, the unique request in the usage of beads and the short time-frame given had made me create something very interesting and different from the usual arrangement I've made. And as you've guessed, the overall idea had been taken from the Pink theme from my cousin's wedding.
For ordering similar theme like this, please contact me.
Seven days past since the last post without any news! First of all I'd like to start calling the "Followers" as "Townies" hehehe...
Dear Townies and readers,
Would like to apologize for the late update because I've been busy with an urgent order to make a set of 7 trays of hantarans within 2 weeks! So up until Wednesday night I've been caught up with the final preparation of it (back-breaking labour).
I don't think I can properly post anything until this Sunday because I've to prepare for an exam tomorrow (weheeeee!!), so here's a sneak preview of the maroon & cream theme for Mr. Allias I've created. More info and slides coming soon this Sunday, InsyaAllah!
P/S: Pardon the picture quality, this pix is taken using my phone.
First and foremost is to declare that this is NOT my creation. This will be just a collection of ideas for hantarans. These are the trays from Shahirah Samat to my cousin, Ridzuan Sani. Their wedding was held mid of last year and these pictures are taken at the reception in Ipoh, on my cousin's side.
Sweet pink color tinge with refreshing look of glass beads (usually used in aquariums) and plastic beads stringed using nylon thread. Let's have a look at it...
This is quite a late entry considering that the wedding was about 3 months ago. But I think it is yet the best masterpieces that I've created for someone very special to me - my husband.
Let's feast our eyes on it!
(This post has been editted to add more pictures as requested by the bride-to-be)
This time around I've been asked to help a dear ex-coursemate who's getting married in June this year to 'create' her 11 trays of hantaran! Suffice to say that I've learned not to disclose any names until the day of the solemnisation. Hehe
The theme color for her is turquoise blue (I think it's more like cyan oceanic blue) with tints of silver and white. Here's the sneak preview of the creations.
There will be more coming for the sneak previews! But the final pictures will be posted in June of course. Didn't want to spoil the surprise! :D

Been about 2 weeks since I last posted in here. Have been into my other project... which has something to do with wedding favours. A friend of mine, Faizatul Haniza (Faiz) had asked for a help to create her hantarans (it was actually FOR HER). Seven trays altogether but I was assigned with five trays only. It is quite challenging because the theme wanted is pink (not my favourite colour) and gold so that's why I've been spending my time offline these few weeks. Anyway here's a sneak preview of it!
